Although usually showing a Lucy persona, there is a goodly amount of Ethel within this pudgy little body. Possibly Ethel is Lucy's "dark side" and lives within where there is little if any humor. This dual presence makes life interesting for Fritz and for Lucy.
What Lucy thought was her zest and enthusiasm for life that sent her out of bed early each morning, Ethel knew better that the heart rate of 82 and Lucy's anxiety was not zest for each day but that something was out of kilter. Reluctantly Lucy submitted to Ethel's feelings and her doctor's orders and began medication to bring down her 175/92 blood pressure. Ethel won but Lucy still kind of resents this.

Lucy loves her friends although Ethel occasionally rises up to intrude. Here are about 1/2 of our FMN group.
Lucy has a grand time with her friends. She can laugh and be silly and abide by the one rule the Forget Me Nots have "if you get your feelings hurt you're in the wrong group". Lucy knows this.We all like each other and no one would intentionally hurt anyone's feeling. Trouble among women (sexist remark) often begins with catering to these "sensitive" ones and it ruins the group.
Nevertheless Ethel raises her head and says," Lucy you are so silly to have friends pose like this" {note that pose above) "Silly Lucy, taking pictures of shoes and hand bags". Ethel keeps it up by tauntingly questioning "Lucy do you have to speak out on every subject?"
But Lucy chuckles and thinks this picture is a hoot.
And this one of the hand bags she finds interesting.
Lucy's reasoning behind the FMN pose above in the picture at the table is it helps raise our chins and make a double chin look like one chin and makes all of us look better.

You reminded me that 'Yes, we do have more than one persona'. ---I am going to remember that pose for my next photo session. --Because I think it just might work for "Turkey Gobblers' neck too.! LOL
Of course the world needs both. Husbands do too.....it keeps them guessing.
We took family pics at our summer birthday picnic and all of us in the front row have our hands folded in our laps. Not planned, it just happened.

Great post. I have arguments with myself too. It's true when you get into a circle of women we all have different ways to do things. I used to be more concerned about what people thought but then I realize we're all people and why not state our opinion about everything? Lol! Actually in real life I just don't say what I think sometimes. Right now I give my opinion because I love God & country and people and I've had too many years of not trying to make a difference in my little corner of the world. So what if we're wrong about some things, if we're honest about our beliefs? And now I am analyzing that last sentence. Was it written by Lucy or Ethel? Was it even right?

I've taken medicine since I was 45yrs old and now I'm on 2 different kinds for my Bp one opens the vessels and one slows and strengthens my heart. Heredity I think since even when I wt. 130 and would do Yoga every week it was still high if I didn't take my pills
i never thought of me having 2 persons in me but I guess I do-one has to give me pep talks and be a cheerleader but one is the serious one,too.
