It was a lovely evening, made even better by this visitor

One of our 5 grandsons. Fritz had just showered and put on his pj's but posed for these photos with Sam.
Family resemblance?

Sam is a senior in high school. Of our son Boy Genius's sons this fellow has the most mannerisms like his dad and also sees the world much as his dad does. He sees the humor in people and situations and entertained us with several very funny stories. Below is one of his senior pictures done in b/w since he knew I have a wall with only b/w photos.

Here is his recent family's picture that I made b/w for my wall. Oops in the process of scanning and editing it I have
made it too small and can not enlarge it on here. Anyway here is Boy Genius and his family. The 2 older ones are in college, one finishing up and the other in his 3rd year, Sam's a high school senior and Paul is a freshman.

I've been very busy and having a lovely time enjoying this beautiful fall weather.
I hope this finds you well.

you know I think the young people must think we go to bed at 6pm -but really we just get ready for bed and then we stay up. lol
love the photos of your family
what a nice surprise visit (pjs or not) ... believe he does resemble his grand papa!! this autumn weather is wonderful!
@Babyboomerjill - Often after a day of working we shower and have our pj's on even before we eat dinner.. LOL
@windupherskirt - This has been a glorious autumn. Harvesting has been going full swing for 2 weeks now. We could use some rain but I am not complaining, it's been so nice out.
I see a gift in the young lads eyes. Something worth exploring.
Oh yes. Fritz can't disown that one! There is a strong family resemblance. Very nice photos!
@The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter - Thank you for your comment.
@murisopsis - Thanks for the comment. This Mr. Sam really looks like his father and has many mannerism like him. This is the grandson who raises chickens and sells eggs. Or he was until the coons got into the hen house and slaughtered most of them. Now he just has a few left.
Great family shots and yes, there is a family resemblance, especially around the nose and mouth. Enjoy the Fall and I went out and walked in the leaves this morning. It was heavenly.
@Grannys_Place - Thanks for your comment. Lovely time of the year isn't it.
@Lucy_or_Ethel - we got a big slow soaking rain this past weekend and now the temps are in the 70s ... i could dig this weather for a long time! ha no harvesting but the wheat farmers were bizzy last week before the rain!
Your son has a lovely family. This was a nice read. Love just pours through the photographs and words. =O)
Beautiful family.
@distractedbyzombies - @icepearlz -
Thank oyu for your comments. We have 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren. Boy Genius is the only one that lives near by and we see the most of him and his family.
Don'tcha just LOVE it when those grandkids pop in like that!?!? And OH!!! I made your picture larger by holding down the ctrl key and rolling the wheel on my mouse, for a 'closeup'.
Nice sunset. Gotta love the grand kids. I have two.
We have been blessed with such lovely weather! I love it!
Your grandson looks so familiar. I wonder...no, I doubt if I've ever seen him.
Lovely family and handsome sons. You are blessed.
I think days are always made better when the grandchildren come!
@GrannyHummingbird - They do not do it often. It remains much fun and so very nice when then they do.
@vexations - Grand kids are a compensation for growing older don't you think?
@mcbery - @ColeenSr - Lovely to have the grand kids visit and also lovely that they are not entirely our responsibility to clothe, feed and raise! We get all the benefits without much of the responsibility!
I can feel the connectedness that threads your family together. *happiness*
@WildWomanOfTheWest - thank you for your sweet comment.
Ah, the wondrous miracle of the generations passing the torch in -- not only how they look, but how they act, and their values and perspectives and dreams. You have every right to be proud of your grandson. He is an honor, to his parents, and also to you and your husband and his other grandparents.
@Buckeyegirlie - Thank you BEG, I appreciate your kind comment.
Ahhhh, such a nice post. Love the pictures.
A big smile is on my face as I finish reading your post and see how Blessed you are. Love the black and white photos. I told Holly the other day I think I want to tackle taking a picture a day so I can get more familiar with my new camera!
@PollythePatchworker - Thank you for your comment. I do hope you can play with your camera, it is such fun and your pictures are always so nice.
@Dominie - Thank you for your comment!

@ofunlo - Very sweet,thank you John.
Your grandson is such a cutie. The family photo is wonderful. There is nothing like being able to spend time with them.

@fauquet - Thank you for your comment. In the picture here is our son Boy Genius and his wife and their 4 sons. We actually have 5 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. So far all are very healthy and doing well.
@Lucy_or_Ethel - once when my son's work brought him by the house about 3:30pm; he said,"mom, you're not starting dinner already are you?" I said,"yes:" I remember asking my granny the same thing cause I thought it was so odd to eat so early. lol
@Babyboomerjill - Ah the memories........precious memories that make us smile.
