Elvis sang to me.......in person
The familiar music pounded out of the speakers
and in he walked..
Mighty fancy for this assortment of farmers, red necks and business men gathered in a machine shed on the Iowa-Missouri border last Saturday night.
Elvis...
He gave me a hug...
*swoon*

He performed the songs all of us know and love
The crowd went wild. Shown below with a cousin, Boy Genius(in the hat) enjoyed it also.
We have a cousin who each year hosts a pot luck gathering with a band, hay rides, a place for campers and this year our cousin who does actually do Elvis impersonations in Las Vegas as a fun hobby joined us. His lovely wife applies his make up,wig and side burns and also operates the sound system. As he sings 'Elvis' directs much of his attention and teasing to her.
Everyone enjoyed his singing and he sounded very much like Elvis himselvis.
Then it was announced that "Elvis had left the building" and the country western band resumed their entertainment. They were good but no one felt like swooning as we had for Elvis.

@windupherskirt - Thanks for the comment. In real life this guy is very gray with thin hair, very clean shaven. A real nice guy, he married our cousin so we've known him for years and years and had no idea he did this, it made it all the more fun.

That pic was not of his blue suede shoes. But, I get the idea.

@shellisland - Thanks for oyur comment, yes it is a grand fun event attended by 170-200 people this year. The weather was perfect this year for it.

That looks like so much fun! We saw "Elvis" in WalMart once and I got a picture of my daughter with him.

@Babyboomerjill - Then you should have been with us last Saturday, Elvis was here LOL. My mother always liked Elvis's singing, I always thought that was so cool to have a Mom who really enjoyed his singing and she thought he was so very handsome. Some of my friends; mothers didn't approve of him.
yes, I have seen some come to the nursing home to visit and do a pretty good job and one at the park a year or so ago. lol
your mom was cool then

Opps I hit the post button before I was done. I would love to go and see the Elvis impersonators who come to the Shilo out at th ebeach every summer. I may just do that this year.
