Just saw this ad:
FREE to a good home, a large mixed breed dog named Barkley.

Methinks I would have left out the dog's name in order to get rid of this dog.

Most definately would have left out the name. Wonder if that's the key to the dog's personality or if it just looks like a Barkley. LOL.
Much as I love dogs, I can't have one right now.

I think I would pass up on an ad for a free dog named Barkley.
i hope his name does not reflect his demeanor!
Real pet names_ a chihuahua named peanut and a very nice dog named lucky.
I don't know why but a mixed breed dog should be called Muttly.....
@PPhilip - Muttly, indeed a great name for a mixed breed dog just as Peanut suits a chihuahua and Lucky must have an interesting story. When I 1st saw Miss Bella Beautiful Beagle in the rescue shelter I said,"bella,bella" and so she has remained. Thank you for your comment.

Pet names are funny, my lil Shih tzú's name is Mei. I think I'd take the dog now that I have a larger place outside the city.
I wish my Beaudry was a little more like Barkley!
