when I worked we had a lot of elderly pts. come in the clinic and I would ask them where they were when they heard about Pearl Harbor being bombed and they said they were coming out of the movies or whatever.
Yes! Thank you for this post. And thank you to all who serve, or who served, our country.
I had a dear old friend who was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He died about 8...or 9 years ago now. (Wow, how time flies!) He always called me "Young Lady" and winked at me. I miss him. HUGS
Thank you~
Thank you for this reminder. A great many lives lost.
It's interesting to see these things from American history. I love my country!
@Babyboomerjill - My mother spoke of how very scared people were. The updates on the radios voiced the uncertainty of just how far onto our land the enemy might be. Nothing like it until 911 happened.
Everyone who serves our country in protecting our people and putting themselves in harm's way for us and freedom should be remembered and honored!
Thanks for the thoughts during a very hard time. Hope your week, what's left of it is a happy one.
@mcbery - Please take care, it is such a tough time made even tougher by the holiday season. We need some of our troops protecting our own borders!
I always remember Pearl Harbor Day, for it was the birthday of a very dear man, my husband's grandfather. He would have been 103 yesterday.
Wonderful post!
