Mexican Stew,The Puzzle,Rummikub,Tea and Me
Buckeyegirlie asked what we were doing in 2007 5 years ago.The following was posted Jan, 30,2007. My little sister’s (ourmissbrooks) Parkinson’s has progressed greatly since then.

I sure had a nice time today. Miss Brooks invited me for lunch. Her husband makes this wonderful Mexican Stew
I’ll post the recipe if anyone wants it. It was very good.
I had planned a traveling tea party
Hutch,Darlene and Jeanine joined us for Rummikub, tea and cake. We had seen very little of our Friend Darlene,it was very good to see her.
Marshall had shared a puzzle with me that Miss Brooks wanted to try so we set up her card table under a sunny window
With some help from everyone the border was completed before I left. It was a nice way to spend a very cold day in January.

Yes indeed, post that recipe! There’s nothing better than hot soup and warm friendship on a cold wintery day! I think all your xanga friends need to take up a collection for you and your poor pitiful Rummikub box!!! =D
I have had that soup, my family loves it. Jill & Sam make it thick and use it as a dip for corn chips. We call it taco soup, it is very good and pretty easy as you mainly just open cans. My kind of cooking. It is a great WW soup. I think it is just 3 pts per cup or something like that. Very healthy and good. I am sure Miss Brooks will have that puzzle done in no time flat.
Ditto on the stew recipe! We love Rummikub too
I would love to have that recipe! I agree with Suzy, we need to take up an offering for that poor box!
Sorry I didn’t get back about Flat Stanley. He went on so many diffferent excursions while he was here, including fishing at Lake Texoma with Dave, his Dad and brothers Ray and Darrell. Unfortunately they left him out on the boat overnight, and discovered it too late in the evening to do anything about it. When they went out the next morning, he was there waiting for them, none the worse for wear and tear! Our nephew had sent him out from Ohio and his Mom told us later that his teacher was very impressed with the information he was sent back with! It was a lot of fun, but we were rather happy when he left again!
Yum, yum! That soup looks great! Sounds like a perfect way to spend the day together. Give Darlene my best!
I have had a wonderful day! Thank you so much for the message! I laughed out loud, and it was so good to hear your voice!! My weary body and I (sounds like I have a split personality, doesn’t it?) had apparently just gone off to bed when you called, and the message was there to greet me when I awoke, it surely made my day! I hope your day is a joy-filled day today!
I’m inviting myself to an F-M-N gathering this summer when I’m on break! They like there’s so much laughter and love there.
It looks like you have added some duck tape to your infamous Rummikub box.
I think it will withstand another trip to AZ!
Ah Rummikub! I haven’t played that in ages… maybe I’ll get that game out and see if I have anyone willing to play….
Ah, it sounds so friendly and wonderful. I haven’t heard much about the group lately. Do you still get together? Time sure has a way of changing our lives, doesn’t it? Parkinson’s is a relentless enemy, too, stealing so much from its victims. I am so sorry for your sister’s losses in these last five years. But you know what, dear friend? I would think that it is safe to say that in the last five years, every single one of your group has dealt with major life losses of one kind or another. If only we could stem the tide in our own lives as well as in the lives of those we love . . . Sure does keep me mindful of what’s important. Thanks for posting this post.
Look sliek you were having a good time and yes, please post the recipe as that looks totally yummy.
